Doing business with us
Rijkswaterstaat promotes safety, mobility and the quality of life in the Netherlands. The government does not ask us to perform that tasks alone and approves that we outsource some the tasks to the private sector.
Every year Rijkswaterstaat places orders for projects and services worth around 3 billion euros. That figure will only increase in the coming years. Commissioning of external contractors is therefore essential to enable us to carry out our public tasks.
Planning ahead
Rijkswaterstaat will have to implement austerity measures in the coming years. The measures will make the organisation more lean and effective as we continue to carry out the many projects in the pipeline. Rijkswaterstaat is therefore critically reviewing its range of tasks and intends to collaborate more frequently with other infrastructure managers. We are also carefully assessing which of our activities can be outsourced and we will delegate a growing volume of work that market actors can perform just as well or even better than we can.
The measures will make the organisation more lean and effective
By acting consistently in accordance with the documented procedures, we hope to bring more uniformity to our operations. Our methods will then be more recognizable and more predictable, one of the objectives pursued by Rijkswaterstaat as a professional commissioning agency.
