Rijkswaterstaat Xperiment: an internship with a difference from September 8 – October 24, 2008
Rijkswaterstaat Xperiment is a 7-week internship for bachelor and master students. It is an opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team working together to define the future. During this course students will work with Rijkswaterstaat experts to find innovative solutions to real challenges faced by Rijkswaterstaat. LEF future center, a new innovative venue, will be hosting the course.
Questions and answers
The climate is changing, sea levels are rising, ground is subsiding and it rains harder and more often. Is it enough to raise our dikes to keep our feet dry? How do we prevent floodings now and in the future? In the years to come, the reliability of roads, railways and waterways must increase. Road congestion must be reduced and many more travellers need to arrive on time at their destination. How do we guarantee road safety in the future? And how do we safeguard the well-being of people, animals and plants at the same time? Rijkswaterstaat employees work to find smart solutions for issues like these every day.
